Community Partnerships

A Community Partnership is a "mini LSP" set up in a local neighbourhood.
It is made up of all those involved in a particular area, usually the size of 1 or 2 political wards.
In each partnership there are people from community, voluntary and faith groups, public sector bodies concerned with health, education, community safety, housing, transport (in fact every service you could imagine), local companies, resident groups, in fact anyone active in and concerned about the improvement of the area (the stakeholders).

Community Partnerships

Community Partnerships meet 4 or 5 times a year when people come together to set local priorities for neighbourhood renewal, and to feed those priorities into the Local Strategic Partnership.
The meetings also listen to residents concerns and refer them on to the appropriate people.

The aim of community partnerships are that they are community led.

In the Local Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy they are recognised as an important part of developing the work of the Local Strategic partnership (the Borough Wide Community Partnership).

The County Council produced a very useful "wheel of activity" for its LSP and we have borrowed the wheel (and put our own hub cap on it!) .

Community Partnerships

Community Partnerships

Community Connections has taken the lead in setting up community partnerships in 5 urban areas of the Borough and across the 4 Northern Parishes of Martham, Hemsby, Winterton and Somerton.
The Partnerships are facilitated by a community development worker, serviced by a CLIP worker, have a steering group and a community grants panel.
One of the partnerships includes a Single Regeneration Bid partnership.

See the community map to understand where they are.

We hope to set up Community Partnerships in every area of the Borough so that everyone has a chance to be involved in setting local priorities and getting involved in making things happen.
